Sharon L. Dunn, PT, PhD, OCS, FAPTA, is Vice Chancellor for Academic Administration, Dean of the School of Health Professions & Sciences, and Professor of Physical Therapy at LSU Health Shreveport. A board-certified clinical specialist in orthopaedic physical therapy, she has served the institution in clinical, teaching, program leadership, residency education, and academic administration roles. Dr. Dunn served two terms as President of the American Physical Therapy Association from 2015 through 2021, following service as Vice President and a member of the APTA Board of Directors. She has also held numerous leadership positions within the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association. In 2026, she was named a Catherine Worthingham Fellow of APTA, the association’s highest membership category. Dr. Dunn earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, Master of Health Sciences with a clinical orthopaedic focus, and PhD in Cellular Biology and Anatomy from LSU Health Shreveport. A nationally invited speaker, educator, and mentor, she is committed to developing leaders, strengthening physical therapy education, and advancing the profession.
